<content type="application/xhtml+xml" xml:base="http://www.dogdayediting.com/index.html" xml:space="preserve">
<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">Here's something new. I just completed a commercial for <a href="http://www.sskiteboarding.com/" target="_blank" title="Slingshot Kiteboarding">Slingshot Kiteboarding</a> out of Hood River, Oregon. This one was a lot of fun and it really makes me want to get out and ride. <br/>
<br/>The piece was done entirely in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=dogdayediting-20%26link_code=xm2%26camp=2025%26creative=165953%26path=http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%253fASIN=B0009319PS%2526tag=dogdayediting-20%2526lcode=xm2%2526cID=2025%2526ccmID=165953%2526location=/o/ASIN/B0009319PS%25253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002" id="2025%2526ccmID=165953%2526location=/o/ASIN/B0009319PS%25253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002" target="_blank">"Final Cut"</a>, except for the end graphic build done in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=dogdayediting-20%26link_code=xm2%26camp=2025%26creative=165953%26path=http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%253fASIN=0321278267%2526tag=dogdayediting-20%2526lcode=xm2%2526cID=2025%2526ccmID=165953%2526location=/o/ASIN/0321278267%25253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002" id="2025%2526ccmID=165953%2526location=/o/ASIN/0321278267%25253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002" target="_blank">Motion</a>, and the music was composed in <a href="http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/redirect?tag=dogdayediting-20%26link_code=xm2%26camp=2025%26creative=165953%26path=http://www.amazon.com/gp/redirect.html%253fASIN=B0002RBK14%2526tag=dogdayediting-20%2526lcode=xm2%2526cID=2025%2526ccmID=165953%2526location=/o/ASIN/B0002RBK14%25253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002" id="2025%2526ccmID=165953%2526location=/o/ASIN/B0002RBK14%25253FSubscriptionId=02ZH6J1W0649DTNS6002" target="_blank">GarageBand</a> by yours truly. <title mode="escaped" type="text/html">Catching up</title>
<content type="application/xhtml+xml" xml:base="http://www.dogdayediting.com/index.html" xml:space="preserve">
<div xmlns="http://www.w3.org/1999/xhtml">OK, so it's been a long, long time since I updated what's been going on. It's been really busy the past few months and I've barely had time to come up for air.<br/>
<br/>Mainly, I've been doing a lot of work for <a href="http://www.cmdagency.com" target="_blank" title="Creative Media Development">CMD</a>, which means a lot of projects for <a href="http://www.intel.com" target="_blank" title="Intel">Intel</a>, and some <a href="http://www.hp.com" target="_blank" title="HP">HP</a> &amp; <a href="http://www.jeld-wen.com" target="_blank" title="Jeld-Wen Windows and Doors">Jeld-Wen</a>. I recently completed editing a pair of remarkable stories that are part of an anti-Meth campaign funded by Jeld-Wen. The two documentary pieces turned out really well, and I'm very proud of the work I was able to do on them. I hope to have copies available on-line soon.<br/>
<br/>I also had the opportunity to work for <a href="http://espn.go.com/" target="_blank" title="ESPN">ESPN Sportscenter</a> covering the NBA Finals in San Antonio. That was a ton of fun and a great change of pace and scenery (although I could have done without the heat). I hope to continue working with <a href="http://espn.go.com/" target="_blank" title="ESPN">ESPN</a> in the future, even more so now that <a href="http://www.nhl.com/news/2005/07/230980.html" target="_blank" title="Let's Go Rangers!!!">hockey</a> is back!<br/>
<br/>Another fun project was cutting a trailer for an independent film being produced here in Portland, <em>
<a href="http://www.freedomstatethemovie.com/" target="_blank">Freedom State</a>
</em>. The film was shot in DVCProHD with the Panasonic VariCam, and I was able to capture the footage via Firewire directly into Final Cut Pro without any additional hardware. Quite exciting to be able to work in HD without taking out a 2nd, 3rd, and 4th mortgage on the house. The trailer can be seen at the <a href="http://www.freedomstatethemovie.com/trailer.asp" target="_blank">official site for the film</a>.<br/>
<br/>That's the latest news for now. A lot has been going on, and it sure looks like the production slump in Portland is over. <br/>
<br/>Stay tuned for more news...</div>
